Petros Maniatis

Dr. Petros Maniatis is our Chief Medical Consultant with a non-profit relationship with us. He was born in Athens at 1961 and he is married with two children. Dr. Maniatis graduated from Athens University Medical School and received his Ph.D. after research in the medical applications of virtual reality. The medical specialty of Dr. Maniatis is Interventional Radiology and currently he is an attending doctor of “Konstantopoulio- Agia Olga” General Hospital in Athens. He is member of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe.
During the last 10 years Dr. Maniatis has been developing and organizing the RIS and PACS systems of Radiology departments. Additionally he has been involved in many medical research projects, many of which where closely related with various database systems and software applications. Among his published articles in international peer review medical journals and in world congresses, there are included papers concerning virtual endoscopy and medical database design. He has also published books concerning the design of medical databases and their applications in the medical research.
Dr. Maniatis was also involved in projects of IAEA concerning the radiation protection of patients in Radiology.
Dr. Maniatis has served the Greek Army as a field doctor in an armored tank division. His main hobbies are alpine skiing and car racing.
